Once, when Hanuman Ji was narrating the entire Ramcharitmanas to Mata Sita, Sage Valmiki overheard and compiled the divine story. He told Hanuman Ji that if the world reads this version, they will praise Hanuman more than Shri Ram himself. Hanuman Ji humbly asked if there was any copy of the scripture. When Valmiki Ji said no, Hanuman Ji requested the manuscript, read it once, and then threw it into the ocean saying, “Any scripture that places me above my Lord Shri Ram is not worthy of existence.” This ultimate act of devotion, humility, and loyalty is why Hanuman Ji is considered the greatest devotee of Lord Ram.
